Facilitation

I have a lot of experience setting up academic events and running workshops

I have worked on several events and workshops over the years, many of them facilitated by me as part of a team. One of the things I love, when putting together an event is creating an experience that will be beneficial for both the event holder and the event participant.

Game Bazar

I created an academic event in December of 2019 as part of a technology course that I was running. The point of the course was that the students were asked to pick a technology to showcase from a list of technologies that we had played with throughout the semester. The students were then asked to make a game using that technology and showcase it in front of the entire school.

Popular votes

The students were asked to display their technological solutions to the school at large, to gain votes. The rules were simple, the group with the largest pool of votes would win the say and thus win the day. This encouraged the students to go above and beyond with their technological solutions, in an effort to one up one another.

Winning the day

The point of the day was for the students to engage with the subject of technology. By publicly displaying their technological solutions (that is to say, their games) and forcing the students to engage with the rest of the school by gathering votes, I managed to further the visibility of the education I was teaching at, as well.

I love creating opportunities for people to shine.
